TASAC: Familiarise with maritime laws

ARUSHA: TANZANIA Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) has called maritime stakeholders to familiarise themselves with maritime governing laws to avoid unnecessary delays when applying for a licence.

TASAC’s Control and Shipping Officer Ms Selina Mikiti said on Monday at the ongoing national safety and health at workplace exhibitions in Arusha that many fail to comply with the requirements according to the laws when filing their licence applications. “We face some of the challenges in the shipping Industry.

There are some people in this business lack maritime governing law knowledge,” she said at the exhibition organised by OSHA.

She advised those in the shipping business to visit the TASAC offices before applying for the licence to familiarise themselves with the requirements to reduce unnecessary delays.
